- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly and the bracket.
- Remove the air filter housing.
- Remove the intake silencer.
- Disconnect the vehicle speed sensor connector.
- Remove the 12 mm bolt holding the speed sensor to the transmission case.
- Pull the sensor straight out of the case.
- Inspect the O-ring for damage and replace if necessary.
- Apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to the new O-ring.
- Insert the sensor into the case.
- Install the 12 mm bolt.
- Reconnect the vehicle speed sensor connector.
- Install the intake silencer.
- Install the air filter housing.
- Install the air cleaner assembly and the bracket.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
