1. Ensure that the vehicle is parked on level ground and that the engine is turned off.
2. Open the hood of the car.
3. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick, which is usually marked with a bright red or orange color and labeled as "ATF." It should be located in the engine bay near the back of the engine.
4. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it clean using a clean cloth or paper towel.
5. Reinsert the dipstick all the way back into its tube.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the level of the transmission fluid on the dipstick stick.
7. If the fluid level is low, you can add transmission fluid to the transmission fill port, which is usually located near the dipstick tube. Use a funnel to add the fluid and avoid spilling.
8. Check the fluid level again using the dipstick to ensure that it is at the proper level.
9. Replace the dipstick and close the hood of the car.
Note: Please refer to your vehicle's owner's manual for the specific location of the transmission fluid dipstick and any additional instructions for adding transmission fluid.
