It’s clear which are Hyundai’s targets. The IONIQ Hybrid version with a starting price of 22.200 USD is cheaper than the Toyota Prius, which has a starting price of 24.685 USD. While the IONIQ Electric with a starting price of 29.500 USD is cheaper than the much less eficient 2017 Nissan Leaf, which has a starting price of 30.680 USD.
First deliveries in the USA are scheduled for next month and if Hyundai does make both models widely available, Toyota and Nissan will have some rethinking to do. The easiest way to boost sales is always a nice price cut, let’s wait and see…
