1. Park the skid steer on a level surface and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake.
2. Open the engine compartment by releasing the latches and lifting the hood.
3. Locate the battery at the rear of the engine.
4. The battery negative terminal (black) is marked "NEG" and the positive terminal (red) is marked "POS."
