What happens when the key fob battery dies on a Lexus?

1. The key fob will no longer be able to transmit a signal to the vehicle's immobilizer, which will prevent the car from starting.

2. The key fob will no longer be able to lock or unlock the doors of the vehicle.

3. The key fob will no longer be able to open the trunk of the vehicle.

4. The key fob will no longer be able to activate the vehicle's panic alarm.

5. The key fob will no longer be able to be programmed to the vehicle.

If the key fob battery dies, you can still start the vehicle by using the mechanical key that is hidden inside the key fob. To do this, insert the mechanical key into the keyhole on the driver's side door and turn it clockwise. Once the vehicle is started, the immobilizer will be bypassed and you will be able to drive the car as normal.

To replace the key fob battery, you will need a new battery of the same type as the original. Once you have the new battery, follow these steps:

1. Remove the mechanical key from the key fob.

2. Pry open the key fob housing using a small screwdriver or other thin object.

3. Locate the battery and remove it from the key fob.

4. Insert the new battery into the key fob, making sure that the positive terminal is facing upwards.

5. Snap the key fob housing back together.

6. Test the key fob to make sure that it is working properly.

If you are unable to replace the key fob battery yourself, you can take the key fob to a Lexus dealership or other automotive service centre.
