1. Open the hood of the vehicle.
2. Locate the air filter housing, which is usually a black or gray plastic box located near the top of the engine. It may have "air filter" or "LUFTFILTER" written on it.
3. Unlatch or remove the cover of the air filter housing. This may involve pressing down on a tab or squeezing two release tabs together.
4. Once the cover is removed, you will see the air filter inside. It is usually a rectangular or square-shaped piece of paper or foam.
5. Carefully remove the old air filter by lifting it out of the housing. Be sure not to drop any dirt or debris into the housing.
6. Inspect the old air filter for dirt, damage, or tears. If it is dirty or damaged, it should be replaced.
7. Install the new air filter in the housing. Make sure that it is properly seated and that the cover is securely closed.
8. Close the hood of the vehicle.
