* A Phillips head screwdriver
* A flat head screwdriver
* A socket wrench set
* A spark plug wrench
* A new CDI
Once you have gathered your tools, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the battery. This is located under the seat.
2. Remove the seat by unscrewing the two Phillips head screws located at the front of the seat.
3. Remove the air filter cover by unscrewing the two Phillips head screws located on the top of the cover.
4. Remove the air filter by pulling it out of the air filter housing.
5. Remove the spark plug wire by pulling it off of the spark plug.
6. Remove the spark plug by using a spark plug wrench.
7. Locate the CDI. It is located on the right side of the engine, just below the fuel tank.
8. Remove the two screws that hold the CDI in place.
9. Disconnect the CDI by unplugging the two connectors.
10. Install the new CDI by reversing the steps above.
11. Start the engine and check that it is running properly.
