Where is the oil pressure switch on a 2003 mini cooper 1.6?

Locate the oil pressure sensor/switch.

1. The oil pressure sensor is located on the back of the engine block, just above the oil filter housing.

2. It is a small, cylindrical sensor with a single electrical connector.

Unscrew the oil pressure sensor/switch.

1. Use a 17mm wrench to loosen the sensor by turning it counterclockwise.

2. Be careful not to drop the sensor into the engine bay.

Remove the oil pressure sensor/switch.

1. Once the sensor is loose, pull it straight out of the engine block.

2. The old oil pressure sensor should come out easily.

Install a new oil pressure sensor/switch.

1. Take a new oil pressure sensor and gently screw it into the engine block by turning it clockwise.

2. Hand tighten only, do not overtighten the sensor.

3. Connect the electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor.

Snap the electrical connector onto the sensor.
