Tools and Materials:
- New air filter
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Flat-head screwdriver
Instructions:
1. Open the hood of your car.
2. Locate the air filter housing. It is a black plastic box located on the passenger side of the engine bay, near the front of the car.
3. Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the four screws that hold the air filter housing in place.
4. Remove the air filter housing cover.
5. Remove the old air filter from the housing.
6. Inspect the old air filter for dirt and debris. If it is dirty, you should replace it with a new one.
7. Install the new air filter into the housing.
8. Replace the air filter housing cover.
9. Secure the air filter housing with the four screws.
10. Close the hood of your car.
Tips:
- You should replace the air filter every 12,000 to 15,000 miles.
- A dirty air filter can restrict airflow to the engine, which can cause performance problems.
