How do you put freon in a VW New Beetle?

The VW New Beetle does not use Freon. It uses a refrigerant called HFC-134a. Here are the steps on how to add refrigerant to a VW New Beetle:

1. Park the car in a shady spot and turn off the engine.

2. Open the hood and locate the low-pressure port. It is usually located on the passenger side of the engine compartment near the firewall.

3. Screw the low-pressure hose from the refrigerant can onto the low-pressure port.

4. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.

5. Turn on the air conditioning and set it to the highest setting.

6. Slowly open the refrigerant can and allow the refrigerant to flow into the system.

7. Continue adding refrigerant until the pressure gauge on the refrigerant can reads between 35 and 45 psi.

8. Close the refrigerant can and remove the low-pressure hose.

9. Turn off the engine and let the system sit for a few minutes.

10. Start the engine and check the air conditioning to make sure it is working properly.
