1. Locate the MAF sensor. The MAF sensor is usually located in the intake hose, between the air filter housing and the engine. On the S500, it is located on the left side of the engine bay, just behind the air filter housing.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the MAF sensor. There is a small plastic connector on the MAF sensor that connects it to the vehicle's electrical system. Disconnect it by gently squeezing the connector and pulling it off the sensor.
3. Use a screwdriver or wrench to loosen the clamp holding the MAF sensor to the intake hose. There is a small clamp that holds the MAF sensor in place in the intake hose. Loosen the clamp with a screwdriver or wrench and remove it from the hose.
4. Remove the MAF sensor from the intake hose. Once the clamp is removed, you can remove the MAF sensor from the intake hose. Be careful not to drop it, as it is a sensitive piece of equipment.
5. Clean the MAF sensor. If you are reusing the MAF sensor, it is important to clean it before reinstalling it. You can clean the sensor by spraying it with a MAF cleaner and then wiping it gently with a clean cloth.
6. Reinstall the MAF sensor. Once the sensor is clean, reinstall it in the reverse order of removal. Make sure that the clamp is tightened securely.
I hope this helps! :)
