1. Park your car on level ground and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood of your car.
3. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located near the back of the engine, on the driver's side.
4. Pull the dipstick out of the transmission and wipe it clean with a rag.
5. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission until it is fully seated.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. The fluid should be between the "Full" and "Add" marks on the dipstick.
7. If the fluid level is low, you will need to add transmission fluid. Use the type of fluid that is recommended in your owner's manual.
8. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission until it is fully seated.
9. Close the hood of your car.
You should check the transmission fluid level regularly, especially if you are towing or driving in hot weather.
