1. Disconnect battery:
- Open the hood and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove air cleaner:
- Loosen the clamps and remove the engine cover and intake tube to gain access to the fuel injectors.
3. Remove the fuel rail:
- Disconnect vacuum lines from the fuel pressure regulator and fuel rail.
- Remove the bolt holding the fuel rail to the intake manifold.
- Gently pry up and remove the fuel rail, be careful not to spill any fuel.
4. Remove the old injector:
- Remove the electrical connector attached to the injector.
- Use a suitable tool pry up and remove the injector from the intake manifold.
5. Install the new injector:
- Apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to the o-rings of the new injector.
- Press the injector into the intake manifold until seated properly.
- Attach the electrical connector.
6. Reinstall Fuel Rail and Air Cleaner:
- Reattach the fuel rail to the intake manifold and install the bolt.
- Connect vacuum lines to the fuel pressure regulator and fuel rail.
- Reattach the intake tube and engine cover.
7. Reconnect the Battery:
- Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
- Start the engine and check for any leaks.
Note:
- Make sure to clean the injector ports on the engine before installing the new injectors to avoid any further issues.
