1. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position, but do not start the engine.
2. Locate the airbag diagnostic connector under the dashboard on the driver's side. It is usually located near the center of the dash, near the parking brake pedal.
3. Connect a 12-volt test light to the diagnostic connector. The red lead of the test light should be connected to the terminal labeled "AIR BAG," and the black lead should be connected to the ground terminal.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" position.
5. Wait 15 seconds.
6. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position again.
7. The airbag light should now be off.
If the airbag light does not turn off, there may be a problem with the airbag system that requires further diagnosis and repair.
