2. Follow the vacuum line from the transmission vacuum modulator to the throttle body. The throttle body is located on the passenger side of the engine, near the front. It is a large, silver-colored device with a butterfly valve inside.
3. Disconnect the vacuum line from the throttle body.
4. Connect a vacuum gauge to the vacuum line from the transmission vacuum modulator.
5. Start the engine and let it idle.
6. Check the vacuum gauge. It should read between 15 and 20 inches of mercury (inHg).
7. If the vacuum gauge reading is too low or too high, there is likely a problem with the transmission vacuum modulator or the vacuum line.
8. Replace the transmission vacuum modulator or the vacuum line as needed.
