1. Gather the necessary tools and parts.
- A new 194 bulb
- A trim tool or thin pry bar
- A Philips-head screwdriver
2. Remove the trunk interior panel cover.
- Use a trim tool or pry bar to carefully pry up the plastic cover of the trunk.
- Be careful not to damage the edge of the trunk lid or the trunk interior trim.
- You might have to pry from a few different locations around the cover to pop it all the way off.
3. Locate the third brake light bulb socket.
- You will see it at the back of the trunk lid, near the top.
- It will be a black or grey socket with a single wire connector attached to it.
4. Remove the old bulb from the socket
- Rotate the bulb socket to the left to remove it.
- Once it is loose, pull the socket out of the trunk lid.
- Remove the old bulb by gently pulling it out of the socket.
5. Insert the new bulb into the socket.
- Push the new bulb into the socket until it is firmly seated.
- Make sure you match the two little pins in the bulb to the two little holes in the socket.
6. Reinsert the socket back into the trunk lid
- Align the socket with the holes in the trunk lid and push it in.
- Make sure it fits in flush.
7. Test the new bulb.
- Press the brake pedal to test the new bulb.
- If it works, replace the trunk lid interior cover and you're done!
