* New fuel pump
* Fuel line wrench
* Screwdriver
* Pliers
* Socket wrench
* Ratchet
Instructions
1. Disconnect the battery. This will prevent any electrical sparks that could ignite fuel vapors.
2. Locate the fuel pump. The fuel pump is usually located on the frame of the truck, near the fuel tank.
3. Remove the fuel line from the fuel pump. Use a fuel line wrench to loosen the fuel line fitting and then pull the fuel line off the fuel pump.
4. Remove the fuel pump mounting bolts. There are usually four bolts that hold the fuel pump in place. Use a socket wrench and ratchet to loosen the bolts and then remove them.
5. Remove the fuel pump. Once the bolts are removed, you can lift the fuel pump out of the truck.
6. Install the new fuel pump. Place the new fuel pump into the truck and then insert the mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts until they are snug.
7. Reconnect the fuel line. Attach the fuel line to the fuel pump and then tighten the fitting with a fuel line wrench.
8. Connect the battery. Once the fuel pump is installed, you can reconnect the battery.
9. Test the fuel pump. Start the truck and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks in the fuel lines. If there are no leaks, the fuel pump is installed correctly.
Tips
* When removing the fuel line, be careful not to spill any fuel. Fuel can be highly flammable, so it is important to be careful when working around it.
* If you are not comfortable working with fuel, you should have a qualified mechanic install the fuel pump for you.
