How do you program the remote key fob on a 2001 Chevy Impala?

To program a spare key fob, also called a transmitter, to your vehicle for this model/year, refer to the following steps provided:

1. Obtain a spare RKE transmitter.

2. Put the key in the ignition.

3. Turn the ignition to the “On” position for 10 seconds, and then turn it to “Off” and remove the key.

4. While holding down the “Unlock” button, press the “Lock” button three times.

5. Close the door within five seconds.

6. Test the transmitter.
