1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- This will prevent the car from starting while you are working on the brake light switch.
2. Locate the brake light switch.
- The brake light switch is located on the driver's side of the car, underneath the dashboard. It is a small, black switch with two wires connected to it.
3. Remove the old brake light switch.
- Use a wrench to loosen the nut that holds the brake light switch in place. Then, disconnect the two wires from the switch.
4. Install the new brake light switch.
- Place the new brake light switch in the same location as the old switch. Then, connect the two wires to the switch and tighten the nut.
5. Test the brake light switch.
- Press down on the brake pedal and make sure that the brake lights come on.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
7. You are now finished!
- The brake light switch has been replaced and the brake lights are working properly.
