1. Disconnect the battery
Start by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery. This will help to prevent any electrical accidents while you are working.
2. Locate the air filter box
The air filter box is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment. It is a black plastic box with a hose connected to it.
3. Remove the air intake hose
To remove the air intake hose, loosen the hose clamp that connects it to the air filter box. Then, pull the hose off of the air filter box.
4. Remove the air filter box cover
The air filter box cover is held in place by two plastic clips. To remove the cover, use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the clips loose. Then, lift the cover off of the air filter box.
5. Remove the air filter
The air filter is located inside the air filter box. To remove the air filter, simply lift it out of the air filter box.
6. Clean the air filter box
Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the inside of the air filter box. Be sure to remove any dirt or debris that may have accumulated.
7. Reinstall the air filter
Place the new air filter into the air filter box. Be sure to install the air filter in the correct orientation.
8. Reinstall the air filter box cover
Place the air filter box cover back onto the air filter box. Then, press the plastic clips into place to secure the cover.
9. Reinstall the air intake hose
Attach the air intake hose to the air filter box. Then, tighten the hose clamp to secure the hose in place.
10. Reconnect the battery
Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery to complete the installation.
