Where is the voltage regulator located in your 87 300ZX or it internal?
There is no voltage regulator in the 1987 Nissan 300ZX. Instead, the car uses an alternator with a built-in voltage regulator. The alternator is located on the front of the engine, on the driver's side. It is driven by a belt from the crankshaft. The voltage regulator in the alternator controls the amount of voltage that is produced by the alternator and sent to the electrical system.
