Where is the Idle control valve on a 2005 Kia Rio?

1. Open the hood of your Kia Rio.

2. Locate the throttle body. It is a cylindrical metal object with a butterfly valve inside.

3. The idle control valve is located on the side of the throttle body. It is a black plastic cylinder with a connector on one end.

4. Disconnect the connector from the idle control valve.

5. Use a wrench to loosen the two bolts that hold the idle control valve in place.

6. Remove the idle control valve from the throttle body.

7. Inspect the idle control valve for damage. If it is damaged, replace it with a new one.

8. Reinstall the idle control valve in reverse order of removal.

9. Reconnect the connector to the idle control valve.

10. Start your Kia Rio and let it idle for a few minutes.

11. Check the engine idle speed. It should be between 650 and 800 RPM.
