1. Park your car on level ground and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood of your car.
3. Locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is usually located near the back of the engine, on the driver's side.
4. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean with a rag.
5. Reinsert the dipstick into the transmission fluid tube.
6. Pull the dipstick out again and check the fluid level. The fluid level should be between the "FULL" and "ADD" marks on the dipstick.
7. If the fluid level is low, you will need to add transmission fluid. To do this, use a funnel to pour the transmission fluid into the transmission fluid tube.
8. Add transmission fluid until the fluid level reaches the "FULL" mark on the dipstick.
9. Replace the dipstick.
10. Close the hood of your car.
