1. Safely jack up the rear of the vehicle to gain clearance under the vehicle.
2. Locate the fuel tank. It is usually a metal tank located under the bed of the pickup truck.
3. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent electrical sparks.
4. Loosen the fuel filler cap to relieve pressure in the fuel tank.
5. Locate and disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel tank. There will be two lines: one for the fuel supply and the other for the fuel return.
6. Remove the bolts holding the fuel tank in place. There are usually two bolts located at the front of the tank and two at the rear.
7. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle. Be careful not to spill any fuel.
8. Once the fuel tank is removed, you will have access to the fuel pump. The fuel pump is usually located at the top of the fuel tank, secured by a few bolts.
9. Remove the bolts holding the fuel pump in place and remove the fuel pump from the tank.
Once the fuel pump is removed, you can inspect and replace it if necessary. Make sure to reassemble everything in the reverse order of disassembly.
