1. Park your vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Open the hood of your vehicle.
3. Locate the battery. It is usually placed on the passenger side of the engine compartment. It has two terminals, one positive (+) and one negative (-).
4. Identify the negative terminal. It is usually marked with a minus (-) symbol.
5. Loosen the negative terminal bolt using a wrench.
6. Remove the negative terminal cable from the battery post.
7. Loosen the positive terminal bolt.
8. Remove the positive terminal cable from the battery post.
9. Now the battery is disconnected.
To reconnect the battery, follow the steps in reverse order.
IMPORTANT:
- When reconnecting the battery, make sure to connect the positive terminal first and then the negative terminal.
- Be careful not to touch the positive and negative terminals together, as this could cause a spark or even an explosion.
- If you are uncomfortable with disconnecting the battery yourself, you can have a professional do it for you.
