1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Turn the ignition to the "ON" position, without starting the engine.
3. Within five seconds of turning the ignition ON, reconnect the negative battery terminal.
4. Turn the ignition off, and wait for 15 seconds.
5. Turn the ignition back ON, and the check engine light should be off.
If the check engine light does not go out, you may need to have your vehicle diagnosed by a mechanic to determine the cause of the problem.
