1. Open the hood of your Pontiac Grand Am.
2. Locate the engine cover, which is usually a black plastic cover with the Pontiac logo on it.
3. Remove the engine cover by unlatching the fasteners that hold it in place.
4. Once the engine cover is removed, you will see the spark plugs located on the top of the engine. There will be four spark plugs, one for each cylinder.
5. To remove the spark plugs, you will need a spark plug wrench. Place the spark plug wrench over the spark plug and turn it counterclockwise to loosen it.
6. Once the spark plug is loose, you can remove it by hand. Be careful not to drop the spark plug into the engine.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for all four spark plugs.
8. When installing the new spark plugs, be sure to tighten them by hand until they are snug. Do not overtighten the spark plugs, as this can damage the threads.
9. Once the spark plugs are tightened, you can replace the engine cover and close the hood of your Grand Am.
