1. The oil filter in a 2010 Pontiac G6 is located on the front of the engine, just below the intake manifold.
2. It is a cylindrical-shaped object with a black cap.
3. To access the oil filter, you will need to remove the engine cover by unclipping the two fasteners on the front of the cover and lifting it off.
4. The oil filter is then located on the front-right side of the engine, near the top.

_Tools Needed:_
- Oil filter wrench
- New oil filter (ACDelco PF46)
- Oil drain pan
- Funnel
- Oil (5 quarts of 5W-20)
- Rags
_Instructions:_
1. Park your car on a level surface and turn off the engine.
2. Allow the engine to cool down for a few minutes.
3. Open the hood of your car.
4. Locate the oil drain plug on the bottom of the oil pan.
5. Place the oil drain pan under the drain plug.
6. Use the wrench to loosen the drain plug and allow the oil to drain into the pan.
7. Replace the drain plug and tighten it securely.
8. Locate the oil filter.
9. Use the oil filter wrench to loosen the oil filter and remove it.
10. Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
11. Screw on the new oil filter by hand until it is snug.
12. Do not over-tighten the oil filter.
13. Add 5 quarts of 5W-20 oil to the engine through the oil fill cap.
14. Check the oil level using the dipstick.
15. Close the hood of your car.

- If you are changing the oil filter for the first time, you may need to remove the plastic shield that covers the bottom of the engine. To do this, you will need to remove the four bolts that hold the shield in place.
