Where are the spark plugs on a 2001 Toyota Highlander?

To access the spark plugs on a 2001 Toyota Highlander, you need to access the engine through the engine compartment:

1. Lift the hood of the car and secure it in the open position using the support arm.

2. Locate the plastic engine cover on the top of the engine. The engine cover is usually secured in place using plastic clips or bolts. Remove the engine cover.

3. The six spark plugs will be placed along the back of the engine compartment, three on each cylinder head. You might only be able to see the boots at first. Follow one of these all the way down in your search for where the spark plugs.

4. Remove the plastic covers (one for each cylinder - three in total) by pulling them upwards while sliding the retaining tabs out of the slot.
