A jumped timing belt can certainly cause an engine to seize in the Lexus ES300. In your car timing belt drives both camshaft and water pump. In interference engine design a failure of the timing belt may result in the piston heads coming into contact with the now stationary valves which may bend, resulting in a seized engine.
