2. Open the hood of your vehicle and locate the air intake hose. This is a large, flexible tube that connects the air filter housing to the engine.
3. Depending on the model of Altima, the air filter housing may be located in the engine compartment, near the top of the engine, or next to the battery.
4. Follow the air intake hose to the air filter housing.
5. Once you have located the air filter housing, release the clips or latches that hold the cover in place.
6. Remove the air filter from the housing.
7. Inspect the filter for dirt, debris, or damage, and replace it if necessary.
