Instructions:
1. Gather your tools and materials.
Make sure you have everything you need before you start.
2. Prepare your vehicle.
Park your vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.
3. Locate the transmission drain plug.
The drain plug is usually located on the bottom of the transmission pan. It is typically a 10mm bolt.
4. Place the drain pan under the transmission drain plug.
Make sure the pan is large enough to catch all of the transmission fluid that will drain out.
5. Loosen the transmission drain plug.
Use the wrench or ratchet with the extension bar and 10mm socket to loosen the drain plug. Be careful not to drop the bolt into the drain pan.
6. Allow the transmission fluid to drain.
Allow all of the transmission fluid to drain out into the drain pan. This may take several minutes.
7. Replace the transmission drain plug.
Once all of the transmission fluid has drained out, replace the drain plug. Tighten the plug until it is snug.
8. Locate the transmission fluid fill plug.
The fill plug is usually located on the side of the transmission. It is typically a 10mm bolt.
9. Remove the transmission fluid fill plug.
Use the wrench or ratchet with the extension bar and 10mm socket to remove the fill plug.
10. Add new transmission fluid.
Use the fluid transfer pump or funnel to add new transmission fluid to the transmission. Add the amount of fluid specified in the owner’s manual.
11. Replace the transmission fluid fill plug.
Once you have added the correct amount of transmission fluid, replace the fill plug. Tighten the plug until it is snug.
12. Check the transmission fluid level.
Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Then, turn off the engine and check the transmission fluid level. The fluid level should be between the “Full” and “Add” marks on the transmission fluid dipstick.
13. Dispose of the old transmission fluid properly.
Dispose of the old transmission fluid at a recycling center or hazardous waste facility.
