1. Disconnect the battery. The alternator is located on the driver's side of the engine, just below the power steering pump. To access it, you will need to remove the serpentin belt and the radiator fan shroud.
2. Remove the serpentine belt. To remove the serpentine belt, use a 1/2-inch drive ratchet to loosen the tensioner pulley. Once the pulley is loose, you can slip the belt off of the alternator pulley.
3. Remove the radiator fan shroud. To remove the radiator fan shroud, you will need to remove the four bolts that hold it in place. Once the bolts are removed, you can lift the shroud up and off of the fan.
4. Remove the alternator. To remove the alternator, you will need to remove the two bolts that hold it in place. Once the bolts are removed, you can pull the alternator out of the engine compartment.
5. Install the new alternator. To install the new alternator, reverse the steps that you followed to remove the old one.
6. Reconnect the battery. Once the alternator is installed, reconnect the battery and start the engine. Check for any leaks and ensure that the alternator is charging properly
