1. Always fuel your outboard motor with the engine off and the fuel line disconnected.
2. Use only fresh, unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87.
3. Do not mix oil with the gasoline, unless your outboard motor is a two-stroke engine that requires it.
4. When fueling your outboard motor, use a funnel to avoid spilling gasoline.
5. Be sure to replace the fuel cap and reconnect the fuel line securely.
6. Avoid starting the engine if you have spilled any fuel. Instead, wipe up any spills and ventilate the area before attempting to start the engine.
7. If you must refuel your outboard motor on the water, be sure to do so in a well-ventilated area and avoid spilling gasoline into the water.
