Can hot weather kill a car battery?

While hot weather alone generally can’t directly kill a car battery, it can contribute to its premature demise:

Excessive heat accelerates the evaporation of fluids within the battery, leading to decreased electrolyte levels.

High temperatures accelerate corrosion on the battery terminals.

Prolonged heat creates higher internal resistance and reduces cranking power which in turn places undue demand on the starting system when starting the car or using accessories.
