1. Park your vehicle on level ground and turn off the engine.
2. Open the trunk of your vehicle.
3. Locate the fuel pump access cover, which is usually located beneath a panel on the right side of the trunk.
4. Remove the screws that hold the fuel pump access cover in place and remove the cover.
5. Locate the fuel pump, which is a cylindrical-shaped object located at the bottom of the fuel tank.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump.
7. Loosen the fuel line clamp and disconnect the fuel line from the fuel pump.
8. Unscrew the fuel pump retaining ring and remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank.
When reinstalling the fuel pump, be sure to:
1. Clean the fuel pump and fuel tank mating surfaces.
2. Apply a new gasket to the fuel pump.
3. Hand-tighten the fuel pump retaining ring and then tighten it an additional 1/4 turn with a wrench.
4. Reconnect the fuel line and electrical connector to the fuel pump.
5. Replace the fuel pump access cover and secure it with the screws that you removed in Step 3.
