Tools Needed:
-10mm wrench
-Flat-bladed screwdriver
1. Open the hood of your Mustang and locate the clutch cable. It is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the firewall.
2. Loosen the locknut on the clutch cable with a 10mm wrench.
3. Turn the adjusting nut on the clutch cable with your fingers until the clutch pedal has about 1 inch of free play.
4. Once you have adjusted the free play in the clutch pedal, tighten the locknut.
5. Check the clutch pedal to make sure it has the proper amount of free play. If it does not, repeat steps 3 and 4 until you achieve the desired adjustment.
Additional Information:
-When adjusting the clutch cable, it is important to make sure that there is still some free play in the pedal. This will help prevent the clutch from engaging prematurely, which could cause damage to the transmission.
-If you are unable to adjust the clutch cable yourself, you should take your Mustang to a qualified mechanic for assistance.
