1. Park the vehicle in a safe, level area, turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
2. Open the hood of the vehicle.
3. Locate the battery, which is usually positioned on one side of the engine bay, towards the front of the vehicle.
4. Identify the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the battery.
5. Start by disconnecting the negative terminal by loosening the negative cable clamp with a wrench and removing it from the battery post.
6. Next, disconnect the positive terminal by loosening the positive cable clamp with a wrench and removing it from the battery post.
7. Once both cables have been disconnected, remove the old battery by lifting it straight up and out of the battery tray.
8. Place the new battery into the battery tray, ensuring that it is properly seated and secure.
9. Reattach the positive cable clamp to the positive battery terminal and tighten it securely with the wrench.
10. Repeat step 9 for the negative cable clamp and negative terminal.
11. Close the hood of the vehicle.
12. You may need to reset the vehicle's clock and radio after replacing the battery.
