1. Disconnect the battery.
2. Remove the drive belt.
3. Remove the alternator bracket.
4. Remove the alternator.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Disconnect the Battery
1. Locate the battery on your Isuzu Rodeo. It is usually in the engine compartment on the driver's side.
2. There will be two cables attached to the battery, a positive (red) cable and a negative (black) cable.
3. Using a wrench, remove the negative terminal first, then the positive.
Step 2: Remove the Drive Belt
1. Locate the drive belt on your Isuzu Rodeo. It wraps around the alternator, power steering pump, and air conditioning compressor.
2. Using a wrench, loosen the tension pulley bolt.
3. Once the tension pulley is loose, you should be able to remove the drive belt.
Step 3: Remove the Alternator Bracket
1. Locate the alternator bracket on your Isuzu Rodeo. It is usually mounted on the front of the engine.
2. Using a wrench, remove the bolts that hold the alternator bracket in place.
3. Once the bolts are removed, you can remove the alternator bracket.
Step 4: Remove the Alternator
1. Once the alternator bracket is removed, locate the alternator. It is usually mounted on the side of the engine.
2. Disconnect the electrical connections from the alternator. There will be two or three wires attached.
3. Remove the bolts holding the alternator in place, and then remove the alternator.
