Identify the service ports. The high-pressure service port is typically marked with a red cap, while the low-pressure service port is typically marked with a blue cap.
Confirm that the vehicle's A/C system is off and that the engine has been turned off for a minimum of 10 minutes.
Connect a recovery machine to the high-pressure service port. Open the recovery machine's valve and begin the refrigerant recovery process.
Monitor the recovery machine's gauge until the system pressure reaches zero. Once the system pressure has reached zero, close the recovery machine's valve and disconnect the machine from the vehicle.
Install the new refrigerant into the vehicle's A/C system. Open the low-pressure service port and connect a refrigerant charging hose. Open the refrigerant tank valve and begin charging the system.
Monitor the refrigerant charging process until the system pressure reaches the recommended level. Once the system pressure reaches the recommended level, close the refrigerant charging hose and disconnect it from the vehicle.
