The 1988 Mazda MX6 does not have a transmission dipstick. The MX6 has a transaxle, which contains the transmission and differential in one unit. The transaxle fluid level is checked by removing the fill plug, located on the side of the transaxle, and adding fluid until it begins to drip out of the fill plug hole.
