Step 1: Open the bonnet and locate the fuel filter.
• It is usually located near the engine, in line with the petrol tank.
Step 2: Disconnect the battery.
• This is a safety precaution to prevent any sparks from igniting the petrol.
Step 3: Loosen the fuel line clamps.
• There are two clips that hold the petrol pipes in place. Use the flat-head screwdriver to loosen these clips. Be careful not to lose the clips.
Step 4: Remove the petrol pipes.
• Once the clips are loose, you can use the pliers to pull the petrol pipes off the filter.
Step 5: Unscrew the filter bowl.
• Locate the filter bowl, which is the housing that contains the fuel filter. Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to loosen the filter bowl. Again, be careful not to spill any petrol.
Step 6: Replace the fuel filter.
• Remove the old fuel filter from the bowl and fit the new filter in its place.
Step 7: Reattach the filter bowl and petrol pipes.
• Hand-tighten the filter bowl and petrol pipes. Then, use the screwdriver to tighten them properly.
Step 8: Reconnect the battery.
• Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery, followed by the positive terminal.
Caution: Before starting the engine, ensure that there are no fuel leaks that need re-tightening.
- Warning: Petrol is highly flammable, so it is important to take precautions when working with it. Make sure to work in a well-ventilated area and avoid any sources of ignition such as sparks or flames.
