How do you check gearbox oil level on BMW k1200rs?

NOTE: The bike must be parked on a flat surface and the oil must be cold in order to check the level.

1. Remove the filler plug that is located on the left side of the transmission.

2. Insert your finger into the fill port. The oil level should be between 10mm (0.39 in) and 25mm (0.98 in) from the top of the port.

3. If the oil level is low, add enough oil to bring it to the proper level.

4. Replace the fill plug.

NOTE: Overfilling or underfilling the transmission oil can damage the transmission. If you are not sure how to check the oil level, please refer to your bike´s owner´s manual or consult with a qualified motorcycle mechanic.
