- Fuel: Make sure the fuel tank has enough fuel and that the fuel line is not kinked or blocked. Check the fuel filter to ensure dirt or debris is not clogging it.
- Air: Check the air filter is clean and not clogged. Ensure no obstructions block the air intake.
- Spark: Check the spark plugs are in good condition and that they are properly gapped. Check that the spark plug wires are correctly connected.
- Choke: Make sure the choke is set correctly. If the choke lever is open too far, the engine may not get enough fuel.
- Idle speed: Check the idle speed is set correctly. If the idle speed is too low, the engine will stall when you give it gas.
- Vacuum lines: Check for any vacuum lines disconnected or cracked.
- Carburetor: If none of the above work, the problem may be with the carburetor. Remove the carburetor and clean it. Ensure that all jets and passages are clear and not blocked. If your carburetor needs rebuilding, you will need to take it to a mechanic to have it done.
