2. Pull the dipstick out and wipe it clean: This will give you an accurate reading.
3. Insert the dipstick all the way back in and pull it out again: The oil level should be between the "full" and "low" marks.
4. If the level is low, add oil through the dipstick tube: Use a funnel to avoid spilling.
