The oil pressure sending unit on a 1997 Chevy Suburban with a 5.7L engine is located on the driver's side (left side) of the engine block, near the oil filter. It's a small unit with one or two wires connected to it. You might need to get under the vehicle to see it clearly. Be careful working in this area as it's hot and oily.
