Where is the crank shaft on a 2001 PT cruiser?

The crankshaft on a 2001 PT Cruiser, like most front-wheel-drive vehicles, is located low in the engine block, at the bottom. You won't see it without removing significant parts of the engine. It's not accessible from above or through simple access panels.
