What is the dohc engine?

DOHC stands for Double Overhead Camshaft. It's a type of internal combustion engine design where two camshafts are located in the cylinder head, one for intake valves and one for exhaust valves.

This contrasts with:

* SOHC (Single Overhead Camshaft): One camshaft controls both intake and exhaust valves.

* OHV (Overhead Valve): The camshaft is located in the engine block, and pushrods operate the valves in the cylinder head.

The advantage of DOHC is that it allows for more precise control over valve timing and lift, leading to:

* Improved performance: Better breathing, allowing for higher power and torque.

* Greater efficiency: More controlled fuel delivery and exhaust.

* Higher RPM capabilities: More precise control allows the engine to operate at higher speeds more reliably.

However, DOHC engines are generally more complex and expensive to manufacture than SOHC or OHV engines. They also tend to be more complex to maintain.
