- 3/8-inch ratchet and socket set
- 1/2-inch ratchet and socket set
- Oil pan gasket
- New oil filter
- Oil pan drain plug
- Oil drain pan
- Jack stands
- Wheel chocks
Procedure:
1. Put the parking brake on and chock the wheels.
2. Jack up the car and support it on jack stands.
3. Locate the oil pan drain plug and place the oil drain pan under it.
4. Use the 1/2-inch ratchet and socket to remove the oil pan drain plug.
5. Allow the oil to drain completely.
6. Locate the oil pan bolts and use the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket to remove them.
7. Gently pry the oil pan off the engine block. Be careful not to damage the oil pan gasket.
8. Clean the oil pan and the engine block mating surface.
9. Apply a thin bead of RTV sealant to the oil pan gasket.
10. Install the oil pan gasket on the engine block.
11. Install the oil pan bolts and tighten them to 10 ft-lbs.
12. Install the oil pan drain plug and tighten it to 15 ft-lbs.
13. Lower the car and remove the jack stands.
14. Add new oil to the engine.
15. Start the engine and check for leaks.
