How do you remove the ignition in a 1980 dodge d50?

1. Disconnect the battery. This is important to do to prevent any electrical shocks.

2. Remove the steering wheel. There are four bolts holding the steering wheel in place. Remove these bolts and then pull the steering wheel off of the steering column.

3. Remove the ignition switch bezel. There are two screws holding the bezel in place. Remove these screws and then pry the bezel off of the steering column.

4. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position. Then, use a screwdriver to depress the release button located on the side of the ignition switch. This will release the lock cylinder and you will be able to pull it out of the steering column.

5. Remove the ignition switch. There are two screws holding the ignition switch in place. Remove these screws and then pull the switch out of the steering column.
